New structured sober living option providing a stable, supportive place to call home during recovery
Recovery Centers of America (RCA) at Capital Region announced today the opening of a new, on-site, 20-bed Recovery Residence in Waldorf, Maryland, for patients enrolled in outpatient programming. The residence provides a structured, recovery-focused place to live during treatment, with shared rooms and meals included.
Recovery Residence is designed for people who are transitioning out of a higher level of care or who simply need a stable, substance-free environment to support their outpatient treatment. Participation in an outpatient program is required.
Residents have access to:
- A structured, recovery-focused living environment
- Peer support and community accountability
- House meetings and recovery-oriented activities
- Planned sober recreational activities and community engagement
- Access to personal communication devices
“We’ve seen what happens when someone leaves treatment and goes right back into an unstable environment. Recovery Residence gives outpatient patients a real shot at staying sober by giving them a stable place to live while they do the work,” said Ross Friedman, Regional VP and Interim CEO of RCA at Capital Region.
Housing instability is one of the biggest threats to early recovery. Without a stable, substance-free place to live, patients are more likely to return to the people, places, and environments tied to their addiction. Recovery Residence addresses that gap directly, pairing structured housing with the accountability and peer support that outpatient treatment alone can’t always provide.
RCA at Capital Region continues to offer its full continuum of care, from residential treatment through outpatient services, for adults seeking help with substance use disorder.
