September 20th Is National Addiction Professionals Day

September is National Recovery Month, a time to reflect on the journey of recovery, celebrate the successes of those who have overcome addiction, and recognize the hard work of substance use and addiction treatment professionals. On September 20th, we also celebrate National Addiction Professionals Day, a day dedicated to acknowledging and honoring the role that these professionals play.

The Recovery Centers of America team is our greatest asset—they’re the true heroes of recovery. On National Addiction Professionals Day, we celebrate the dedication and compassion of our team members who work tirelessly to help patients overcome addiction and achieve lasting recovery.

We also want to highlight the work of referring professionals, who play a crucial role in connecting individuals in need of treatment with the appropriate resources and support. If you’d like to learn more about our system of care and refer a patient, call 833.926.5486 today.

How We’re Celebrating National Addiction Professionals Day

There are many ways to celebrate and show appreciation for addiction professionals on this special day. Here are a few ideas:

  • Share your story – If you have personally benefited from the care and support of an addiction professional, share your story on social media using the hashtag #NationalAddictionProfessionalsDay.
  • Send a thank-you note – Take the time to write a heartfelt thank-you note to an addiction professional who has made a difference in your life or the life of someone you know.
  • Volunteer – Service is a key component of recovery. Get in touch with your Alumni Coordinator to find out how you can give back to the community and support those in recovery.
  • Attend an event – Check out our events calendar to see what in-person and virtual events are happening in your area.

The expertise, compassion, and dedication of addiction professionals make a difference in the lives of individuals struggling with substance use disorder every day.

National Recovery Month: A Time to Celebrate and Educate

National Recovery Month is also a time to educate others on the realities of addiction and the importance of seeking treatment.

Recovery Centers of America offers a host of resources to help individuals, families, and communities better understand addiction and the recovery process. These include:

  • Our FAQ – Want to know how long treatment takes, what kind of therapy is used, or how much it costs? Our FAQ breaks down the most common questions about addiction treatment.
  • Our blog – Our regularly updated blog covers a range of topics related to addiction, treatment, and recovery.
  • Webinars – Join our live webinars or watch previous recordings on various addiction-related topics, such as family dynamics in recovery or the role of spirituality in healing.
  • Our social media – Follow us on social media for inspiring stories, helpful tips, and information about events and resources.

In addition to educating others, National Recovery Month is also an opportunity to celebrate the progress and achievements of those in recovery. It serves as a reminder that with support, treatment, and determination, lasting recovery is possible for anyone struggling with addiction.
