Recovery Centers of America-Danvers Names Laura Ames CEO

DANVERS, Mass., Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Recovery Centers of America (RCA) announced today that Laura A. Ameshas joined the Danvers facility as chief executive officer. Ames, a healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership positions at hospitals and rehabilitation centers across Massachusetts, will lead the day-to-day operations of the 207-bed drug and rehabilitation center. She will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility, including enhancements to the clinical curriculum, treatment protocols and educational programming offerings.

Prior to joining RCA, Ames served as CEO of HealthSouth New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn. She previously held executive-level positions at Arbour Hospital, Health Partners New England, Wingate Healthcare, Inc., Spectrum Health Care Systems, iCare Management, LLC and Olympus Health Care Group. She is also former a clinical nursing instructor at Quinsigamond Community College, where she provided clinical and didactical instruction to first year associate degree nursing students.

An active member of the community, Ames is a member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), and has served on the committee of the Massachusetts Association of Behavioral Health (ABH) and Department of Youth Services task forces. She holds multiple licenses and certifications, including Registered Nurse (Mass. and Conn.), Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (Mass. and Conn.), and Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Ames earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Fitchburg State College and her Master of Science in nursing administration and patient education from Anna Maria College. She also earned a Master of Science degree in criminal justice and a Master of Business Administration from Anna Maria College.
