During a recent FOX Carolina interview, RCA at Greenville Medical Director Dr. Jeffrey Harris explained how addiction affects both the body and the mind. Alcohol and drugs can worsen physical health and contribute to serious mental health symptoms, including cognitive impairment, confusion, and symptoms that may resemble dementia or schizophrenia. These effects can intensify during periods of stress, isolation, or exposure to extreme weather.

At our facility in Greenville, South Carolina, patient comfort is a critical part of the recovery journey. We focus on creating a warm, welcoming environment where individuals feel safe, supported, and cared for from the moment they arrive. Patients have access to spaces and activities that support whole-person healing, including fitness areas, yoga, art therapy, sober recreational activities, and opportunities to build community during their stay.
