The pandemic has created several new issues and concerns that we have yet to face as employers, and the importance of effective leadership in the workplace is more important than ever.  Whether it is employees working from home, entering the workspace with heightened levels of fear and/or managing the feelings and effects of positive COVID employees and their loved ones, creating safe and collaborative spaces for employees is more important than ever.

Through this training, attendees will accomplish the following objectives:

  • Develop 3-5 new approaches/interventions to use in leading your workplace
  • Identify 3-5 symptoms of burnout or stress related to the pandemic within the workplace
  • Develop a plan for proactively remaining ahead of the curve and leading through uncertain times

The Rise of Harm Reduction in the Pandemic:  Being Okay Really is Okay

 Dr. Heidi Ginter

1 NBCC CEU

During the past 2 years, it has been hard to separate COVID-related facts from fiction and make informed decisions about risk.  People who identify as women are often tasked with making these decisions for themselves and the children and others who rely on them.  Women instinctually find the least risky path for those who rely on them while often overlooking the path that would reduce risk and maximize the benefit for themselves AND their people.  Finding this latter path is the way of harm reduction.  There has been a surge of interest in harm reduction ways of thinking during the pandemic.  We will explore some harm reduction strategies that have the greatest potential to impact women’s lives now.  We will also discuss practical ways to implement these strategies in personal and professional contexts.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe 3 harm reduction strategies that can positively impact women
  2. Explain the differences between a standard approach to women’s health and a harm-reduction approach
