Our Mission
Recovery Centers of America (RCA) was founded with a bold mission: to save one million lives from the chronic disease of addiction, one neighborhood at a time. From the outset, RCA has set itself apart by providing quality, patient-centric substance use disorder (SUD) treatment.
Today, RCA continues to innovate in the field of addiction treatment, aligning with advancements in neuroscience and industry standards. This commitment to excellence is embodied in the newly developed RCA care model, which builds on RCA’s foundational patient- and family-centric approach. Our approach emphasizes evidence-based treatments, a comprehensive continuum of care, and measurable outcomes to ensure the highest level of clinical care and industry-leading results.
Core Tenets of Our Care Model
Our care model is anchored by six core tenets that are essential for achieving sustained recovery:
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills – Providing evidence-based skills training and coaching to help patients manage emotions, cope with crises, and improve relationships.
- Family involvement – Engaging and supporting family members through therapy and dedicated support programs.
- Measurement-driven care – Utilizing industry-leading methods to track patient success and incorporate data into treatment.
- Alumni support – Extending support beyond discharge to ease the transition back into daily life and provide long-term sober supports.
- 12-step and recovery support – Integrating 12-step programs and other recovery supports throughout the treatment process, with daily meetings.
- Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) – Offering medications to reduce cravings, maintain long-term recovery, and decrease the likelihood of relapse.
RCA’s commitment to evidence-based care is reflected in our impressive outcomes. The Brief Addiction Monitor (BAM) is used as the primary psychometric screener, tracking improvements in recovery-oriented behaviors and reductions in risky behaviors. Recent data show a 59% reduction in risk scores and a 13% increase in protective scores during inpatient care, demonstrating the effectiveness of RCA’s approach.
Levels of Care
Medically Monitored Detoxification
The first step for many entering recovery is safely completing withdrawal from substances. RCA’s medically monitored detoxification ensures that this process is handled with the utmost care, providing a safe and comfortable environment where patients are monitored around the clock.
Inpatient Treatment
Following detox, patients transition to inpatient treatment, where they can focus entirely on their recovery in a structured and supportive environment.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
As patients progress in their recovery, the partial hospitalization program offers a step down from inpatient care while still providing a high level of support.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed for patients who have achieved some stability in their recovery and are ready to return to work, school, or other life responsibilities.
Alumni and Aftercare Support
Recovery is a lifelong journey, and RCA’s Alumni Association ensures that patients have ongoing support and resources long after formal treatment ends.
Three Pathways to Recovery
Our care model recognizes that everyone’s journey to recovery is unique. That’s why we offer three distinct pathways to support patients based on their individual needs.
- Foundation of Recovery – For those starting their recovery journey for the first time.
- Fresh Start – For individuals who need a restart in their recovery.
- Balance – For patients with co-occurring conditions like mental illness.
At each stage of the patient journey, RCA’s experienced medical and clinical staff provide the highest quality care. By offering a continuum of services, RCA ensures that every patient has the resources and support necessary to achieve and maintain long-term recovery.
Accessible, Individualized Care
In addition to clinical excellence, RCA is dedicated to making treatment accessible and supportive at every stage of the journey. RCA offers 24/7/365 admissions, accepts most commercial insurance, and provides transportation and intervention services at no extra cost. RCA’s mission center staff, care coordinators, and alumni coordinators stand by patients and their families every step of the way, fostering a lifelong partnership through the alumni and community programs.
