Speaker Series – Christopher Poe – Building Connection and Resilient Relationships – Webinar – 5/6/2020
RCA Academy is sponsoring this free speaker series on relationship building featuring Christopher Poe, Senior Instructor at 49 North. Building social relationships is critical for resilience, particularly for personnel who may be isolated from their normal social support network. In this interactive session, participants will learn to strengthen communication to facilitate strong relationships—between romantic partners, friends, and/or family members. Many people believe that strong relationship result from how you respond when someone needs support when things go wrong. While that is true, new research shows that being there for friends and loved ones when things go well is equally, if not, more important, in building and maintaining successful relationships. We’ll teach a critical skill for ensuring we support friends and family in times of trouble and joy. We’ll also talk about how technology can affect relationships, and how to ensure it doesn’t interfere with building connection.
