Your whole family can heal together

When your son or daughter is struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol, the excruciating pain and flood of emotions you experience—fear, frustration, sadness and anger, among others—can be overwhelming. The constant worry, sleepless nights, and questioning what role you might have played can leave you feeling helpless.

We want you to know you are not alone, and there is hope.

At Recovery Centers of America, we understand the struggle of mothers and fathers trying to save their children, protect them from the devastation of addiction, and rescue them from the pain of feeling alone. That’s why we treat addiction and heal families together. To help both of you thrive in a shared life of long-term recovery, we offer addiction treatment options for your adult child as well as a variety of educational, therapeutic and support services to guide you as a parent.

You’re not alone.
We’re here for you 24/7.

Discover: Our life-changing addiction program for young adults

Among the specialized inpatient programs, we offer at Recovery Centers of America is Discover, a program designed specifically for young adults ages 18-34. Applying proven addiction treatment while paying special attention to the developmental challenges of young adulthood, Discover will help your young adult child:

  • Develop effective communication skills
  • Establish healthy boundaries
  • Manage emotions
  • Learn coping skills
  • Find positive relationships
  • Resolve trauma
  • Understand family dynamics
  • Cultivate career skills

Your son or daughter will receive guidance within gender-specific groups, led by therapists, recovery support specialists and other addiction professionals specifically trained to treat young adults. Employing techniques that have proven effective in addiction treatment, like cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational enhancement therapy, your child will also benefit from yoga, fitness and outside time.

To ease their entry into treatment, we strive to communicate clearly what they can expect. Peer support, one-on-one sessions with their therapists, small group sessions, as well as access to phone calls and communication with you and other family members early on allows them to recover in a controlled environment while giving them space to grow. Throughout every phase, our guiding aim is to provide an appropriate balance of structure and freedom.

Also, your children can maintain their enrollment in college through SchoolFlex, a treatment enhancement service which allows structured time for schoolwork while in treatment, in addition to a number of other addiction treatment services for college students.
