Continuing Education Event – The Pandemic & Telehealth: How to Identify Substance Use Disorders in our Clients – Webinar – 12/11/2020
With the holidays approaching and the rapid 2nd wave of Covid-19 upon us, we would like to ensure that individuals who are struggling are still able to access the help they need. Our goal is to educate private practice clinicians and licensed NJ providers on the signs and symptoms of addiction so that they are better equipped to make a referral and assist patients in getting needed treatment during this unique time.
– Identify 5-10 signs and symptoms of substance use and/or addiction
– Identify 2-3 ways in which referring to inpatient substance use treatment can benefit clients
– Define 5-10 ways to involve patient support system in their treatment/referral process
– Understand the various levels of care available for substance use treatment
– Gain understanding on how to make appropriate referrals for substance use treatment
Recovery Centers of America has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7002. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Recovery Centers of America is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. This course qualifies for 1 credit hour.
Dawn Belamarich Berry
Chief Executive Officer, RCA at Lighthouse
Dawn Belamarich Berry, LPC, LCADC, CCS, CCGC is excited to bring her experience as a leader and clinician into her new role as Chief Executive Officer at Recovery Centers of America at Lighthouse. Upon completing two master’s degrees and working in various social service and treatment settings, Dawn found a permanent home within the social service fabric of South Jersey. For over a decade, Dawn has been an influential leader within the field, carrying roles such as therapist, supervisor, and administrator, and she developed an unrelenting passion for working with those dealing with addiction. From working with adults in a state prison environment to working with youth in intensive outpatient and aftercare modalities.
Dawn has not only developed a concrete understanding of how addiction works but has also developed the most important characteristic in addiction and mental health treatment: knowing how to best guide individuals on their journey to bring about positive, sustainable change. In her new role as Chief Executive Officer at RCA at Lighthouse, Dawn hopes to continue to aid individuals in bringing about positive change on their path to recovery.
Clinical Director, RCA at Lighthouse
Crystal brings to Lighthouse a strong passion for addiction, education, and mental health. She hopes to utilize her leadership role as Clinical Director to help enhance clinical programming and therapeutic techniques to get that much closer to RCA’s mission of saving one million lives. Upon completing her Master’s degree from Rosemont College, she immediately followed her heart and found her passion for addiction in 2013. Crystal has worked in several different levels of care, however found her home when she came to RCA in 2017. Since coming to RCA, Crystal has held several roles beginning as an outpatient therapist, inpatient therapist, supervisor and now Director. Crystal has extensive knowledge in substance use and co-occurring disorders. She particularly enjoys working with individuals with identified trauma, co-occurring issues, as well as has a special interest in the study of eating disorders. As the Clinical Director, Crystal oversees daily programming and assist in development of continued enhancements, helps manage day-to-day responsibilities and functions, as well as is a part of the growth process for the clinical team. Crystal believes that being a great director reflects in those growing around you and that is what she strives for daily. Crystal’s greatest pleasure is having the opportunity to work alongside passionate and caring individuals. Working in the field, such as addiction can be hard at times, however Crystal believes in RCA’s mission and strives to provide the utmost dignity, respect, and compassion for all clients that come to treatment. Crystal stands by the saying, “they say if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.” With this company and Team, she believes that couldn’t be more true. Each day is an honor and a privilege. Crystal cannot wait to see how many more lives we save and how much more we grow.
