Co-Occurring Disorders – 3 CEUs
Using adult learning techniques and case studies to illustrate common clinical issues, the Co-Occurring Training offers opportunities for clinicians to discuss common psychiatric disorder or issues that our patients tend to experience along with their addiction. To increase competency, this training exposes common signs and symptoms, what to look for when symptoms escalate, behavioral patterns, specific interventions to use, and clinical blind spots. Other topics covered include: Counter-transference, Differential Diagnosis, Staff-Splitting, and Suicidality.

Amy Brinkley, LCSW is the Clinical Trainer for the Maryland Center for Addiction Treatment in Waldorf, MD. Amy has over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in Residential and Outpatient settings. Amy specializes in trauma, substance use disorders, ADHD, and depression. Her prior experience includes her work as the Clinical Director and Executive Director for the Village, a Sanctuary Certified Residential Treatment Program in suburban Philadelphia. Amy has extensive training in treating trauma and substance use disorders throughout her 25-year career.
