Michael Ogden, Recovery Centers of America Monroeville CEO, sits down with KDKA TV’s John Delano to discuss the latest Centers for Disease Control data showing a 15% increase in overdose deaths from drugs and alcohol in one year.
In total, 107,000 Americans died after an overdose last year and Ogden says the main culprit is Fentanyl, a highly potent narcotic often combined with other drugs that can have deadly results.
“That’s 1 death every 5 minutes from overdose,” Ogden says. “But, the key to recovery is hope. We have to keep working at it and using the science we have. We have to help people see there’s another way, a better way, to live.”
