Christy Eichinger was one of the original 44 employees on board when RCA at Devon made its debut. In 2017 she accepted an offer as a Recovery Support Specialist which is where she found her passion and purpose by helping patients navigate a new life in recovery. In 2018 Christy accepted the position of Financial Counselor at RCA, which gave her the opportunity to work with patients one-on-one and alleviate some of the outside stressors that contribute to addiction, so they could focus on their treatment. In 2019, Christy left her Financial Counselor position to be the first Alumni Relations Coordinator at RCA where she can assist patients and their families in the journey of recovery by offering support through the Alumni Association.

What do you hope to accomplish as an Alumni Coordinator?

I hope to help as many people as I can obtain long term sobriety. The mission of saving one million lives is near and dear to my heart, and I believe that my role as an Alumni Coordinator can help us get closer to that goal every day.

In your opinion, why do you believe an alumni program is so important for those who want to achieve long term recovery?

We know that the disease of addiction is incredibly isolating. For our Alumni Association, a key part of what we do is offer our alumni the opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals who have been through similar experiences, will help people reconnect and feel supported in a way that only people in recovery can.

What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

I most enjoy when I meet someone for the first time when they come into inpatient treatment, and them seeing them come back as to volunteer their time with a newly founded clarity and light in their eyes that wasn’t there before.

What are the major driving forces in your life?

The major driving forces in my life are without a doubt my children. I have spent most of my adulthood raising my children to be the incredible adults they are today, and I could not be prouder. Now, it is my turn to make them proud by following my passion and helping those who are ready to find a new way of life.
