Methadone & Suboxone Treatment in Middlesex County, NJ

Drug overdose deaths in New Jersey surpassed 1,800 from January 1, 2020, to July 31, 2020, with more deaths happening every single day. In Middlesex County alone, there have been 132 suspected overdose deaths so far in 2020, with 634 Naloxone administrations.

Perhaps that was the driving factor in Governor Murphy’s decision for a first-of-its-kind pilot program that supplied select pharmacies across NJ with free doses of naloxone.

“This initiative will help get them get on a path to recovery,” said Gov. Murphy.

But it’s not enough. People are still dying from drug and alcohol addiction in Middlesex County every single day.

Recovery Centers of America has opened Woodbridge Healthcare Clinic in Iselin, NJ to combat the opioid epidemic in New Jersey. As a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) facility, Woodbridge Healthcare Clinic offers:

  • Methadone maintenance
  • Suboxone maintenance
  • Short and long-term detoxification
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Medical examinations
  • Screening and assessments
  • An intensive outpatient program
  • Case management
  • Community education
  • Emergency on-call.

The fear of withdrawal is one of the biggest reasons why people get stuck in the cycle of addiction. When your body no longer has drugs in its system, it goes into overdrive – you’re overcome with sickness and stress, you’re on edge and unhappy. The thought of carrying out even the most basic activity is impossible.

Maybe you’ve felt it before and don’t ever want to feel it again.

Imagine feeling well enough to start working towards recovery – not feeling so sick or overcome by withdrawal symptoms that you fall back into the cycle. That’s where MAT comes into play. Medication, such as methadone and Suboxone, stabilize the brain and reduce withdrawal symptoms.

That means you can go back to life as you knew it – before the disease of addiction began to dictate your everyday activities. You can be a present parent or spouse, get a job or go back to work – all while participating in recovery activities that’ll keep you engaged and active in your life and in sobriety.

In other words, MAT can make recovery possible for those who never thought it was possible. And that’s exactly what we’re providing at Woodbridge Healthcare Clinic.

Methadone Clinic

As a comprehensive methadone clinic, Woodbridge serves Middlesex County, New Jersey and surrounding counties. Methadone is a synthetic opioid agonist, which eliminates withdrawal symptoms and relieves drug cravings by acting on opioid receptions in the brain – the same receptions that opioids like heroin, morphine and opioid pain medications activate. So while methadone occupies and activities these opioid receptors, it does so more slowly and does not produce euphoria.

Methadone can be the stepping stool so many desperately need to get through the worst parts of withdrawal.

Looking for a Suboxone Doctor?

If you’re in need of a Suboxone doctor, Woodbridge also provides another MAT option: Suboxone. Much like methadone, Suboxone binds to the brain’s opioid receptors. However, unlike methadone, it does not fully stimulate the receptors.

While these are two different medications, there are both effective when it comes to treating opioid dependence. We understand this is not a decision that can be easily made – which is the better choice for you? Our clinical team will work with you to determine which medication will lead to the better recovery outcome.

Substance Abuse Counseling for Middlesex County, NJ

Whether you and your clinical team decide on methadone or Suboxone, one thing holds true for both of these medications: they are simply one piece of a successful individual treatment plan. Achieving and maintaining total recovery also involves having the right coping skills to deal with triggers and stress, strong mental and physical health, and the ability to create or restore healthy relationships.

Woodbridge’s team of addiction experts will create an individualized treatment plan that addresses every aspect of the disease of addiction. That means you’ll participate in group and individual counseling sessions to uncover any possible conditions or factors fueling your addiction. You’ll also build a recovery network during your time here, who will provide unbeatable support and a sense of community.
