Joanne Tobiasz, APN-BC has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 12 years and sees patients at Recovery Centers of America in NJ. “As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I have been trained to treat the whole person. As a FNP, I can assess, diagnose and treat Opioid Dependence on a one to one basis as I know there is not a one size fits all model”. She earned her XDEA just prior to starting with RCA.
Joanne began her nursing career in 1996 as an ER RN at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ. She served as clinical coordinator in the ER for several years and also assisted the education department teaching Medical Assistants and staff RN’s on many topics. She earned her degrees at the prestigious Drexel University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She practiced in family medicine and then worked with patients of all ages with allergies and asthma. She then took a passion to use her skills with those suffering from opioid dependence. She cared for patients in many settings such as corrections and now RCA. She was also an integral part of the Covid-19 Response Team in NYC at the height of the pandemic.
Joanne is married with two children and loves to spend time with them. She is known to be “the go to person”. “I believe teamwork is essential in any setting. I practice as if all my patients are my family”. IShe enjoys the beach, boating, and in the winter months skiing. Joanne enjoys working out and read up to date journals on Opioid Dependence.
