Authored by Audra Franchini
New Jersey has been in need of more specialized drug addiction treatment centers and now, Lighthouse is here.
Substance abuse is a national problem that is not showing any signs of getting better quickly. In 2014 only 18.5% of the 22.5 million Americans who needed a drug addiction treatment center received treatment for drug abuse. New Jersey is one of the states that has seen particularly troubling increases in substance abuse trends over recent years. In just two years–from 2010-2012–the state saw a 53% increase in drug-related deaths. The state is in desperate need of new drug addiction treatment centers New Jersey residents can trust to help handle this crisis.

If you are a parent in the tri-state area looking for a recovery center to treat your adult child’s substance abuse problem, then our caring and credentialed team is here to offer your child a full continuum of services, as well as support for your entire family.
Lighthouse Provides the Drug Addiction Treatment Center New Jersey Needs
Treatment Centers throughout the New Jersey area should not just treat the patients symptoms of substance abuse–but instead be prepared to address every aspect of our patient’s life. At Lighthouse we want to provide the comprehensive treatment needed to help patients achieve lasting recovery.
Substance use disorder is a pervasive illness. It impacts multiple aspects of a person’s well-being. This can be from their physical and mental health, to their relationships and ability to function in society. This is why recovery is about much more than simply achieving abstinence–it is about creating a comprehensive healthy lifestyle to ensure long-term recovery.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration there are four major dimensions of a “life in recovery.”
Four Major Dimmensions
- Health: One major aspect of this portion of recovery is the management of our patient’s disease or symptoms. This means withdrawal and abstinence from drug or alcohol use. Additionally, making healthy life decisions to enable physical and emotional well-being.
- Home: It is essential for patients to have a safe and stable environment to recover and live in.
- Purpose: Involvement in meaningful activities and healthy participation in society.
- Community: Being able to maintain healthy, stable relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.
Lighthouse provides medically-managed detoxification (withdrawal from drug or alcohol use) to begin the recovery process. From there patients are immediately transferred into a recovery program . These recovery programs provide therapy and educational seminars. They work to provide patients with the support and training to prevent relapse and return to a health lifestyle. The recovery programs also offer a variety of individual, group, family, and spousal counseling sessions. These work through relational problems and promote healthy, stable relationships.
Here at Lighthouse we understand that the process of recovery looks different for every individual. For that reason, we employ evidence based treatments that have the research to support their effectiveness. But, at the same time, work with each patient to provide them with personalized, dynamic treatment. This is based on their needs and their history.
Many people who struggle with substance use disorder have been in treatment programs before. Unfortunately, relapse is often a part of the journey. At RCA we want to look at what has worked and what hasn’t so patients are not discouraged by retracing steps that have been ineffective in the past. As you consider what drug addiction treatment centers in New Jersey have to offer and which ones might be right for you, be sure to contact us at Lighthouse for more information and to schedule your no cost assessment.
