“The team at RCA gave me the help I needed to live again. Their passion and love for the person who walks through the door is something special to witness and be a part of. They make it very apparent what the goal is for the staff – and that’s to save lives. I’ll be eternally grateful for the care I received in inpatient and outpatient care. If you’re truly willing to get sober, this is the gate to a new way.” – Jake
Outpatient Levels of Care
RCA offers multiple levels of care in order to meet patients where they are in their recovery journey. These levels include:
- Partial hospitalization program (PHP) – Highly structured and meets five days a week (Monday-Friday) for around five hours each day. PHP uses the most advanced techniques and experienced staff to help you achieve lasting recovery, at your own pace
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP) – A great alternative to PHP, IOP is also highly structured yet meets three days a week (day and evening options) for around three hours each day. IOP is perfect to get the treatment you need while fitting it into your current work, family, and responsibilities
Through these levels of care, you can receive comprehensive treatment in the setting that’s best for you.
Evan’s Story: Levels of Care in Action
Evan spent ten years going in and out of rehab without success. When he would return home to his dad’s place, his life had no sense of accountability, and he lacked community and support. However, things changed when he joined sober living, where he found brothers in recovery who shared their experiences and helped him gain insight into his own behavior.
At one point, Evan left sober living after returning to substance use. Nevertheless, he eventually returned, and his brothers held him accountable for his actions, calling out his problematic behaviors. The supportive staff also played a crucial role in assisting him in making lasting changes. Transitioning from PHP to IOP, Evan acquired valuable tools and learned to establish structure in his life, which he continues to utilize to this day.
After a year of successful recovery and embarking on a career in the field, the same alumni coordinator who caught him using drugs reached out with a job opportunity at RCA, completing a full-circle moment for Evan. Currently, he serves as a house manager for Sober Living House at Bracebridge Hall and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to give back what was once given to him.
Lifelong Recovery
Making patients feel safe, comfortable, and at home during treatment is a crucial part of long-term recovery. One way that we do this is by helping patients connect with a community—both within the RCA family and with others who are on a similar journey. Staying connected to others who are also in recovery can provide encouragement, support, and accountability as patients navigate the challenges of daily life. The RCA Alumni Association offers opportunities to connect with other alumni and participate in meetings and events.
“The combination of all of these groups of people and their caring went a long way to shaping the cohort of patients and their caring and support of one another. The staff enabling the group of guys I was with to become comfortable and to work together was critical in my early sobriety. RCA provided an environment where I was comfortable and able to work hard at my recovery. If you put the effort in the work you are assigned, you will begin to get results. Thank you RCA. Keep up the good work!” – Daniel
