When Service Takes Its Toll
The call to serve—whether you’re an active or former law enforcement officer, firefighter, corrections officer, EMT, paramedic, nurse, active-duty military, or a veteran—requires courage and sacrifice—but the weight of that service can leave lasting effects.
- Post-traumatic stress and operational stress injuries
- Guilt, shame, or fear of letting down your unit, command, or loved ones
- Struggles with reintegration into civilian life or family life
- The pressure to “push through” without asking for help
These challenges reflect the weight of all you’ve carried in service and in your life.
