Detox While Pregnant
Can you safely detox while pregnant? Absolutely. At Bracebridge, our medical and clinical providers are experienced with treating pregnant women, as well as psychiatric issues and addictions. It’s critical for a pregnant woman to be under a doctor’s care in order to safely detox from drugs or alcohol. This is for both her safety and the unborn child. Our treatment guidelines are:
Detoxification depends on the substance that has been used and the level of abuse, as well as the mother’s health and history. Each treatment plan is specific and unique to each patient. However, when using medically-assisted treatment, Bracebridge uses Methadone or Subutex. Both of these pose minimal risk to the unborn child and are safe for the mother to take through delivery.

With our integrative treatment, we focus on what underlying conditions could be contributing to addiction, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and more.
