Director of Outpatient Services

Jennifer Herbert LPC is the Director of Outpatient Services at Monroeville. Jennifer brings 20 years of clinical experience ranging from inpatient psychiatric care, community mental health, forensic counseling and program development and treatment in the outpatient setting. Jennifer is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) an evidenced based approach for working with individuals who suffer from PTSD. She also is a certified Y12SR leader which unites the practices of yoga and the principles of the twelve steps. In addition, Jennifer also specializes in working with first responders, veterans and impaired healthcare professionals.

Jennifer’s passion for RCA’s mission of saving one million lives has been cultivated by both personal and professional experiences. She believes in the importance of creating a space to heal that is inspiring, safe and supportive. Jennifer’s goal for outpatient programming at RCA is to promote long term recovery for individuals and their families.

Alexandra Armstrong

Director of Outpatient Services

In her role as Outpatient Director, Alexandra (Alix) brings years of experience in the substance use disorder field to RCA at Monroeville. She first entered the field in 1988, serving the front lines of direct care. Through her years of experience, Alix has served adolescents and adults in the positions of Psychiatric Tech, Outreach Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Director with a specialty in working with those seeking treatment for co-occurring disorders, maternal addiction, withdrawal management and medication-assisted treatment. She has training experience in topics related to recovery and tobacco cessation treatment. Alix values the creation of a treatment environment which offers evidence-based practices in a safe, nurturing environment provided by a treatment team that places the clients’ recovery goals as the focus of their experience. Alix is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, specializing in Community Behavioral Health. She earned her Pennsylvania CAADC in 2003.
