Who Makes Up Your Care Team While in Addiction Treatment?

Recovery Centers of America

Authored by Recovery Centers of America

When seeking addiction treatment, a support system is essential. Your care team is an invaluable component. These individuals guide you through your treatment journey and provide support at every step.

At Recovery Centers of America (RCA), we understand the importance of having a knowledgeable and experienced care team. By employing evidence-based clinical strategies with dignity and compassion, our skilled administrators, clinicians, counselors, and other professionals will furnish you with the essential tools for lifelong recovery.

Call 1-800-RECOVERY today to speak with an administrative professional at RCA and learn more about how we can guide you along your recovery journey.

Who Makes Up Your Care Team?

Your care team is composed of various individuals, each with a unique role in your treatment. The following people make up your support system while in recovery:

Administrative Professionals

Administrative professionals for recovery centers work behind the scenes to ensure your treatment runs smoothly. They include receptionists, staffing coordinators, and administrative and executive assistants.

At RCA, our administrative professionals ensure that your treatment experience is seamless. They handle scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments. They are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive and stress-free experience.

Clinical Staff

Your clinical staff is an essential part of your care team. These professionals include doctors, nurses, and therapists specializing in addiction treatment. They are responsible for administering medications, monitoring physical health, and providing therapeutic support. Clinical staff members work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals.

RCA’s doctors are board-certified, and our nurses are specially trained in addiction treatment. Our therapists use evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT-informed), to help patients develop coping skills and address underlying issues that may contribute to addiction.

Peer Support Specialists

Peer support specialists have experienced addiction and are now in recovery. They support and guide those currently in treatment. Peer support can be a valuable resource for those in recovery, as it allows them to connect with someone who has been through similar experiences.

RCA recognizes the importance of peer support. Our peer support specialists work alongside our clinical staff, giving one-on-one support and leading group sessions. They share their experiences and offer hope and encouragement to those in treatment.

Family and Friends

Your care team also includes your family and friends. They can provide emotional support and encouragement throughout your treatment journey. Family therapy sessions can help loved ones understand addiction and learn how to support someone in recovery.

At RCA, we understand that addiction affects not only the individual but also their loved ones. We believe family involvement is essential to recovery and encourage family members to participate in treatment.

Your Employer

Even your employer can be a part of your care team. New England Director of Business Development at RCA, Todd Whitridge, has this to say about how employees can receive help for addiction in the workplace:

“People who struggle with substance use in the professional world face unique challenges…If you’re one of the thousands of people struggling with addiction in the workplace, there is a way out. You’re more valuable than you think. Your employer needs you healthy. Top performers are hard and expensive to replace. And chances are, if you ask for help, they will support you. I’m speaking directly to you, the one reading this. You’re sick, and it’s not your fault.”
