Care You Can Count on, from Our Drug Detox Centers
Detoxification is the process of medically stabilizing patients while drugs and alcohol leave their system. Detox is a necessary first step for many patients, and it prepares them to move on to their next level of outpatient or residential care. While a critical part of the treatment process for many, detox can pose serious health risks and must be carried out under medical supervision. Upon admission to our drug detox centers, all patients undergo a comprehensive nursing and medical evaluation and when necessary, receive detoxification services. These services may include medications to ensure a medically safe withdrawal while helping to ease the pain and discomfort often associated with withdrawal symptoms. Patients are closely monitored 24 hours a day by physicians and other medical staff. However, detox alone is never considered a full course of treatment.
