Reignite your faith and find Freedom from addiction
While you are in the Freedom program, an elective 30-day Christian substance use disorder treatment program, you will receive treatment focused on healing your mind, body, and soul.
Your body will be treated throughout the entirety of the program, but most especially so during early stages of treatment to ensure your maximum comfort during the detoxification period. Your mind will be healed through counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other tested clinical and faith-based approaches. And finally, the needs of your soul will be addressed through guidance from our Christian addiction treatment experts, as well as Bible focused groups and services offered in the Freedom program.
Core addiction treatment services
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Addiction can be seriously damaging to your Christian values and aspirations. With A.C.T you will be able to reconnect with your values and aspirations once more, to learn to let negative emotions “pass through”, to take a stand for yourself and stake your claim on your recovery from addiction.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is considered one of the most safe and effective treatments for both emotional trauma and substance use disorder. A vicious cycle of negative thinking is often a cornerstone of emotional trauma and CBT is the perfect tool to break out of it. Through it you can learn to realign your views on yourself and others, and to modify your thoughts and behaviors, thereby improving your emotional flexibility and overall well-being. CBT is also a powerful tool to find congruency with your faith-based values.
- Narrative Therapy
Through narrative therapy, you will work to rewrite the mental stories you tell yourself about who you are in a more positive frame, as well as detach problems caused by addiction from your identity so that you may more effectively resolve their effects on your life. A basic tenet of Narrative Therapy is “the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem”, which correlates with the Bible’s, “Love the sinner and not the sin.”
- Prayer and Mindfulness
Prayer and mindfulness are very valuable for those recovering from addiction. Through communication with the creator and present-moment awareness you can increase self-compassion and strengthen your ability to self-regulate emotions. They also help you develop a strong, personal connection with God and live your life in the present moment according to the spiritual principles outlined in the Bible.
- Positive Psychology
We will help you develop a more positive perspective towards life and other people based on biblical truths, this will help you find more joy, freedom and meaning. Through community activities and therapy, you will learn to garner the power of positive emotions, positive relationships, accomplishments, and gratitude – which, in turn, will change how you feel for the better and energize you to move forward in a positive direction in life.
