As a graduate from Merrimack College, Peter Barbuto began his career in addiction treatment in 2007 with Cushing House. Here, he served as a program manager, helping people suffering from addiction find the right treatment options for them. In 2011, Peter joined another addiction treatment group, the South Boston Collaborative Center.
As the outreach director, Peter worked in the community that he grew up in and was passionate about helping people with his same background grapple with addiction-related issues. From here, Peter moved into the role of Regional Manager of Business Development at America Addiction Centers until 2017, when he joined Recovery Centers of America as Vice President of Business Development.
Peter has maintained his vision of being a community advocate and a resource for anyone seeking help for addiction. His scope has grown from a single recovery center in South Boston to overseeing the national footprint of a sprawling, multi-hundred bed treatment operation. Peter was also awarded the South Boston Collaborative Beacon of Hope Award in 2015 and the Massachusetts Labor Assistance Professionals Community Service Award in 2016.
