Stephanie Anderson Named CEO of Recovery Centers of America Indianapolis

Area Mental Health and Addiction Expert to Lead New Treatment Facility

INDIANAPOLIS (November 22, 2020) – Stephanie L. Anderson, LCSW has been named the Chief Executive Officer of Recovery Centers of America’s new addiction treatment center opening on the north side of Indianapolis in December. Anderson brings her skill, expertise, and compassion to RCA’s first facility to open in the state of Indiana.

The need for recovery programs is critical as Indiana’s substance use statistics continue to climb. In 2018 over 1,100 residents died of overdose from opioid abuse. From 2000 through 2018 over 8,700 Hoosiers died from alcohol-induced causes.

Recovery Centers of America (“RCA”) has treated more than 40,000 patients nationwide. The state-of-the-art RCA Indianapolis facility will be located at 8530 Township Line Rd. and will provide both inpatient and outpatient care. The RCA model of care provides holistic community-based treatment for those who are struggling with  drug and alcohol addictions, specially tailored to foster long-term recovery. Under the RCA treatment model, patient care is located near the home rather than a plane-ride away so that families can participate, and treatment is generally provided in-network with insurance so that it is affordable.

“RCA is making quality care for substance use disorders more accessible to Hoosiers with the opening of the Indianapolis location.  I am honored to be a part of this exciting opportunity for the State and the recovery community,” said Anderson.

Prior to joining the RCA team, Anderson held several leadership positions with healthcare organizations in addition to her diverse work with the State of Indiana. Anderson most recently was the CEO of a residential facility for youth in Indianapolis where she was responsible for the development, implementation, and achievement of the treatment center’s strategic business plan.

Anderson held two executive positions with the State of Indiana, serving residents through the  Indiana Department of Correction and the Family and Social Services Administration. While with the IDOC Anderson was Executive Director for the Addiction Recovery Services Division. She also served as the Deputy Director of Adult Mental Health and Addiction in FSSA’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction.

“Stephanie’s background in clinical mental health and addiction along with her administrative management and credentialing expertise will serve her well in this important work,” said Stephen C. McCaffrey, President and CEO of Mental Health America of Indiana.  “I look forward to working closely with her to assist Hoosiers with substance use disorder move toward recovery.”

Anderson earned B.S. degrees in both Criminal Justice and Ballet from Indiana University, Bloomington, and her Master of Social Work from Washington University, Saint Louis.

When fully occupied, Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis is expected to bring close to 200 jobs to the community. RCA is committed to providing a safe and successful treatment environment for patients, staff, and families during the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic, complying with all Indiana health requirements and CDC mitigation measures. All new RCA patients will be screened for the COVID-19 virus prior to admission, and staff will be routinely tested, using the GENETWORx diagnostic viral test which has an accuracy rate in the 99th percentile.
