Via PR Newswire. Since March 2016, RCA at Lighthouse has Treated Over 3,000 Patients and Invested Over $75 Million in the South Jersey Community. The Expansion at Lighthouse Demonstrates RCA’s Commitment to the Health of the Community.

MAYS LANDING, N.J., Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Recovery Centers of America (RCA), a community-based addiction treatment provider delivering evidence-based care, announced today the expansion of their Mays Landing, NJ facility by 80 residential beds, bringing the total number of patient beds from 53 to 133. In addition, the expansion has created 62 new jobs, increasing the total number of employees to 240, including both inpatient and outpatient services. To date, RCA at Lighthouse has treated over 3,000 patients and the new expansion will support an increased commitment and investment in the South Jersey community.

Built as a beautiful, five-star medical facility, Lighthouse was RCA’s first center to open in March 2016 with 53 beds, 34 of which were dedicated to detoxification services. RCA at Lighthouse is in-network with most major insurance companies to minimize out of pocket expenses for patients and families. All RCA facilities are 24/7 medically supervised residential rehabilitation centers, featuring the latest evidence-based addiction treatment practices delivered by a team of medical experts including master’s-level clinicians, therapists, nurses, psychiatrists and recovery support specialists.

RCA offers a comprehensive continuum of care which includes medically-monitored detoxification as well as residential inpatient and outpatient treatment services. The comprehensive approach to treating addiction includes a variety of therapies and programming, including individual and group therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options, mindfulness meditation, yoga, spiritual services, an immersive 12 step program, confidence-building workshops, comprehensive aftercare planning, as well as an extensive alumni network and more.

“I came to Lighthouse a broken man,” says Bob, a patient treated at Lighthouse for Substance Use Disorder in 2016. “I was helped tremendously by the staff who treated me with respect and dignity. One of the happiest days of my life was when I was able to return to RCA Lighthouse and become a member of the team who saved my life.”

Lighthouse’s alumni network has partnered with Surfside Structured Sober Living, which provides young men a safe transition from treatment to recovery, and other local organizations such as the Parent-to-Parent Coalition, Stop the Heroin, City of Angels, as well as various churches, recovery houses and recovery support groups.

“We have been at or close to 100% full every day since we’ve opened and are in desperate need of these additional beds,” says Lighthouse CEO David Dorschu. “New Jersey’s overdose rate is three times higher than the national average and Atlantic County itself has one of the highest rates in the state. Being a resource to this community means bringing hope back to individuals and families who have been affected by addiction, helping them to live a meaningful and successful life in recovery.”

The expansion and new hires support RCA’s 24/7 admission philosophy and makes Lighthouse one of the largest addiction treatment facilities in the state to be fully accredited by The Joint Commission as well as on its way to becoming one of the fastest-growing employers in the state. This milestone was made possible by the NJDOH licensing department which vets healthcare providers and helped Lighthouse grow to better serve the community.

Additionally, the success of the expansion was supported by emergency service providers and public officials, such as the Hamilton Township K-9 Unit and ambulance corps,  who help to ensure the safety of patients and staff; the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, located in Mays Landing, which has initiated the HOPE ONE van to increase awareness of  treatment resources and medical assistance in the area; mayors from Atlantic County and Hamilton Township, among others, who have toured the facility and are kept up to date on the impact the addiction crisis has on the community and how Lighthouse is helping to solve the problem.

RCA at Lighthouse offers individualized programming for populations which require their own space, such as gender-specific living arrangements, the Young Adults program for those aged 18-29 years-old, as well as trauma-specific treatment. RCA also offers free community meeting space for AA, NA, Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, family support groups and any other recovery-based organizations to hold meetings seven days per week. The need for space not only reflects need in the community, but also RCA’s dedication to treating everyone’s unique needs.
