RCA Radio Hour Celebrates Long-Term Recovery
On the first Tuesday of every month, Tara Rivera, treatment advocate for Recovery Centers of America, representing our Massachusetts facilities RCA at Danvers and RCA at Westminster, co-hosts the Recovery Centers of America Radio Hour on Boston’s WKPZ the K-Zone 105.3FM and 1280AM.
This month’s episode featured special guest Lisa DeAntonio, Recovery Centers of America’s Mission Center supervisor. DeAntonio shared her inspirational recovery journey, expressing both the challenges of reaching recovery and the triumph of living it.
As September is National Recovery Month, Rivera recounted how during the first 20 years of her 24-year recovery, she did not widely share her recovery status. But over the last four years, she has reversed course, revealing her recovery as “who I am, what I do, and my mission in life,” adding that she “loves folks who recover out loud.”
