Harm Reduction 101: For SUD Professionals offers an introduction to harm reduction as a concept, as a social movement, and as a set of principles that healthcare, addictions, and peer recovery services professionals can apply to their work with people having present or even past drug use problems. This training is adapted from the three-day Recovery Coaching a Harm Reduction Pathway© course of same author and presenter. Participants of Harm Reduction 101: For SUD Professionals will receive six education hours issued by MBSACC.
Dean LeMire is principal of The LeMire Group, LC, a recovery services consulting and training agency based in the Greater Boston Area. In his various roles across the substance use disorder continuum of care Dean has facilitated expansion of improved, person-centered, and community-based service delivery. In New Hampshire, Dean was instrumental in forming a statewide network of Recovery Community Organizations, as well as a statewide network of harm reduction service programs as a founding board member of the New Hampshire Harm Reduction Coalition and as co-founder of Hand Up Health Services, a multi-county syringe services program. In Texas, Dean co-founded the Texas Harm Reduction Alliance and served as Operations Director for Austin Overdose Prevention Services, a state-funded mobile outreach program. Dean has trained recovery coaches since 2015 and co-developed Recovery Coaching a Harm Reduction Pathway© with Jim Wuelfing in 2019.
